2018 GOLDEN GUITAR FINALIST -
'Southbound Train - Runaway Dixie'

'Bluegrass Recording Of The Year' Golden Guitar Awards Of Australia.
Wow!! We are so excited to be anounced a finalist in these awards (21/11/2017).
Congratulations to all in the section with us and to all finalists in all sections of the awards. We are humbled and honoured to again be listed with you all.
This is our third year as finalists in the awards. We are very proud that every finalist we have had in the Golden Guitars (2016, 2017 and 2018) has been with our own original material.

The track 'Southbound Train' was written by band member Virginia Hermel and is from our current Runaway Dixie album 'Poor Man's Gold'. We are totally stoked!!

The Golden Guitar Awards winners will be announced on the last Saturday evening of the Tamworth Country Music Festival January 2018. Good luck to all.
Thanks again to the radio world, our fans and everyone concerned for your support of our music!!

SINGLE - Southbound Train (Tuesday 27th June)
Another single was released from our latest album 'Poor Man's Gold'. 'Southbound Train' has been released on CRS Radio Singles. (For radio presenters reading this, it is available for download in either Wav or Mp3 format.) This track was from our current album 'Poor Man's Gold' (released late October 2016).

2018 Tamworth Country Music Festival.

2017 Highlights so far...

AUSTRALIAN AMBASSADORS FOR USA MISSISSIPPI BI-CENTENNIAL & JIMMIE RODGERS FESTIVAL
What an awesome honour this was for our group, to be part of this event and represent Australia in Meridian, Mississippi, USA in May 2017. Huge thanks to all for making us so welcome.


GOLD MEDALLION MEDIA AWARD WIN!!
We were very happy to be awarded 'National Group or Duo of the Year' at the 2017 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Our thanks to all who voted for us and all the radio and industry support.

TAMWORTH FESTIVAL PROMOTIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
Runaway Dixie had our Golden Guitar Finalist track 'Roundabout' included on the CMAA 2017 Winners CD released at the festival. This album featured all the 2017 Golden Guitar Finalists.

Runaway Dixie were also invited to submit a track 'Poor Man's Gold' for inclusion on the Tamworth Country Music Festival 'On The Road' Compilation album.
This promotional album was distributed to all Tamworth Country Music Festival patrons who purchased the Official Tamworth Festival Gig Guide.

We are truly grateful to those concerned who invited us to be a part of these promotional opportunies above.

Our 4th album titled 'Poor Man's Gold' is now available.
Titled 'Poor Man's Gold' the album includes quite a few originals from the band as well as some covers we have put our own stamp on.
This album includes the 2017 Golden Guitar 'Instrumental Of The Year' Finalist track - 'Roundabout'. (an orIginal composition)

'Roundabout' an instrumental from the album was a FINALIST in the 'Instrumental Of The Year' in the 2017 GOLDEN GUITAR AWARDS OF AUSTRALIA from our current album 'Poor Man's Gold' !


Composed by band member Virginia Hermel, the track features Virginia on her Martin D18. The track is just one of 15 tracks including the 2 other singles released in 2016 'You're The One '(In A Million), and 'Poor Man's Gold'.

2016 HIGHLIGHTS : )

GOLDEN GUITARS FINALIST & MORE....

We had fun being a finalist in the 2016 GOLDEN GUITARS this year, and we sincerely thank CMAA and everyone involved who made it a great experience.

We feel so honoured and humbled to have been finalists so many awards at the Tamworth Festival this year including a finalist spot in the GMMA Group Awards.
We sincerely thank everyone who voted for us and all the messages of support etc. Much appreciated.

2016 TSA AWARD
"GOLDEN BRIDGE" written by band member Virginia Hermel took out the TSA GOSPEL SONG OF THE YEAR. The track is from our 'BAYOU QUEEN' album.
Virginia had multi semi-finalists and 2 finalists in the TSA awards.
All songs were from the BAYOU QUEEN album.

 

 



2015 Highlights


SOUTH AUSTRALIAN HALL OF FAME INDUCTION!
Virginia & Lynette Coad (from RUNAWAY DIXIE) were inducted into the SA Hall Of Fame at Barmera in June 2015. :D
